Ogata checked his watch. 9:59 AM. Silently, he urged for the elevator to move faster.
The elevator doors finally opened, and Ogata sprinted down the deserted corridor. He opened the door at the end and stepped into the conference room, shutting and locking the door behind him as he entered.
If you could even call this place a conference room, he thought to himself. There was no table, or even any chairs—just six large television screens mounted to the wall. All of them were switched off, but they didn't remain that way for long.
Ogata checked his watch again. The moment the second hand ticked past the twelve, the sc

FACE-OFF
Osaka, Japan
First Sapporo, and now Osaka.
First Rodan, and now Anguirus.
Why?
Why does he keep showing up?
As highly intelligent as he was, Hiroshi Ogata didn't have an answer.
When Anguirus made landfall in neighboring Kobe earlier that day, Ogata wasted no time evacuating the Geological Institute's offices in Osaka. Only after ensuring that the building was clear did Ogata make his exit aboard a Bell 206 helicopter waiting for him on the rooftop. For many of his coworkers, it seemed like an odd way for a mere geologist like him to leave the building.
Little did they know, however, that Ogata was not a mere geologist.

Drabble: A Little Girl Talk
Being a Lyoko Warrior comes with its own set of trials and tribulations. Among those were how to balance one’s warrior life and regular life. The overlap of those two was a common source of drama, and recent events were no exception. A particular conversation surrounding William Dunbar had resulted in one of these warriors, Solana Stern, to lash out at another, Yumi Ishiyama. Interactions between the two had lead Solana to believe that Yumi was toying with her cousin’s emotions. Tensions didn’t simmer during an attack by XANA later that day. Although they were able to cooperate during that time, there were still some unresol

OSAKA ASSAULT
Kobe, Japan
Located on the north shore of Osaka Bay, Kobe was smaller than nearby Osaka to the east; however, being Japan's sixth largest city, it was still a bustling, lively city in its own right. It was an unusually warm, sunny Saturday afternoon in Kobe, so many people decided it would be a good idea to relax and play at some of the region's beaches. One of the most popular of these beaches was Suma Beach, which granted visitors a marvelous view of northern Osaka Bay.
It was a perfect day—a day ill-suited for the carnage that was about to come.
Less than a kilometer off the coast of Suma Beach, the spiky

Chapter Four: Missing
The cafeteria today wasn't nearly as active as Rosa suspected. Leftovers were served first, and she only brought out new foods when those were cleared out. From across the area, Zachary Combes could see a group of now only four people. He had wondered where the other two were at, particularly the ones with streaked hair. He couldn't help but shift his attention from the group size to Aelita Stones. To say that he was curious about her would be an understatement. Something about her, perhaps her intellect or moments of unabashed sarcasm, sparked a personal interest from within. Zachary knew that he had to say something t

Chapter Three: Ambush
Ulrich, Jeremy, and Aelita tried to remain focused during the day's lesson with Mrs. Hertz. That was proving to be easier said than done, however. Due to the lackluster teaching methods that failed to keep many students' attention, not just the trio, and the latest stunt by XANA their minds wandered away from what was currently in front of them. As for explaining Odd and Solana's absences so far, they knew they had come up with a temporary, albeit flimsy, excuse. Until the clones were ready to be shown off, there's no way the three would be able to come up with a clever enough explanation for why they weren't present. U

Chapter Two: Trapped
It was still daytime when Yumi and Solana reached the abandoned factory. The routine for accessing their secret headquarters was ingrained into both of them. Use a rope to jump down to the main floor, get to the elevator, punch the code in, and get in touch with Jeremy. Nothing too out of the blue so far. By all accounts, this was just another ordinary mission. At least it took Solana's mind off of everything else.
Jeremy acknowledged the girls' presence when they came into the lab. "Guys, your backup has officially arrived."
"About time! We're getting swamped over here!" Odd's voice rang out.
"How are things going on
To anyone who read my "Ghosts in the Machine" before I posted chapter 4 and 5, I redid chapter 3 too. I didn't want to post a separate chapter 3 version 2, so I overwrote it instead
